Lint Trivia

Our fully biodegradable lint comes from plants and animals: flax (linen), cotton, hemp, wool, alpaca, yak, silk and friends. Some is hand-spun, or hand-dyed, then coaxed into a woven structure. All handwoven items offered in our shop can be cleaned at home, some simply tossed in a washing machine, some by hand or nothing more than being dusted, shaken out, or vacuumed. Nothing we offer necessitates dry cleaning. We do not offer synthetic fibers or even bamboo, which, although the raw material is renewable, involves chemical manufacturing processes.

Handwoven home furnishings in our shop include blankets, throws, pillows, placemats, table runners, rugs and wall hangings created by weavers with particular knowledge of how fiber and color behave (or don’t), and how to coax them - a single strand at a time - into useful and beautiful cloth.
