We are a Brick and Mortar Shop

(offering byproducts of sawdust & lint)

Sawdust and lint intermingle in a shared studio space. He has been working with wood for (gasp) over a half a century, and she began weaving when she already had a few ‘character lines’. We share a common workshop, and a common quest for practical, but beautiful home furnishings.

Sawdust is everywhere, in every conceivable shape - from chainsaw chips when a tree was felled to paper thin curls from a handplane, to powdery residue from final sanding. Lint accrues beneath a Swedish loom in her workspace (dubbed the Loomy Bin, or Loomatorium), generated from the abrasion of yarn through the heddles and reed in the loom, while scraps of yarn somehow find themselves tousling amid sawdust on the floor.

It’s often not a tidy space, and it is well off the beaten track, so we invite you to our shop, located in Peterborough, New Hampshire, where, in person, in ordinary lighting similar to a residential setting and with your own hands, you can see and feel the handcrafted items we offer and fully appreciate their particular qualities.

We are pleased to offer the handcrafted work of other artisans whose work is particularly imaginative, technically superlative, and shares in the sustainable ethic with which we create our own work.

The shop is not about us as artisans - it is about the pieces we offer, which spark joy to see and use in your own home, or to give as gifts to those who are special to you.

The content on this website was created by an actual human being (known to get lost in contemplating fiber content), using original photos taken in and around our workspaces, while actual human hands make everything offered in our shop.
